Bio

Originally from Nottinghamshire, Micky Wozny studied animation at university before working as an animator in Sheffield, winning several awards for the content agency she worked for. Having a passion for storytelling and character animation, she yearned for a way to bring her own ideas to life.

Deciding to leap back into education, she successfully applied to the MA Directing Animation course at the National Film and Television School. Whilst at the NFTS, she has directed Max (2018), Dots (2018) Let Her Rip (2019) and her graduation film Something Borrowed (2020). She has since seen success at a number of festivals as well as being included on the BAFTA LA Student Awards Shortlist.

Since graduating, Micky has been working on a number of projects including a 2D animated short about a perfectionist and his pork scratchings. She’s also interested in breaking into the children’s entertainment industry following the completion of her masters’ thesis which details multiple case studies of existing animated children’s shows. She’s passionate about rich and authentic storytelling and is eager to bring stronger female roles to the forefront of animated media.
